“The first exhibition” is the annual program of 127 garage, within the framework of which artists realize their first personal exhibition in our space. The program aims to expand artistic and cultural diversity and support the artistic community.
We launched “The First Exhibition” in 2020. The finalists of the open call received consultations from the curators of the space Anton Tkachenko and Nastia Khlestova, as well as mentors – artists from Great Britain Winnie Herbstein. Each participant was also provided with a space for work, money for the production of works, assistance in creating an exhibition, and exhibition space. Among 73 applications for participation in 2020, we selected:
- Vasyl Vereshchagin (Kharkiv)
- Daria Kryvchikova (Kharkiv)
- Kamilla Davlyatshina (Shakhtarsk – Kharkiv)
- Daryna Mamaisur (Kyiv)
- Tamara Turlyun (Kyiv)
- Yevhenii Svystun (Kyiv)
- some_static_pictures and shallow_wat (Kyiv – Kharkiv)
“The First Exhibition 2020” was supported by the European Union under the House of Europe program.
