Decentralization

The third exhibition of the Weaving project is Decentralization. 127 garage from Kharkiv presented its community in PICH in Vinnytsia.

127 garage is a space for cultural initiatives, created by artists and for artists. Artist Anton Tkachenko and curator Nastia Khlestova opened a space for exhibitions, lectures, performances, meetings, discussions, and, most importantly, experiments in the garage in the summer of 2019. The main goal and mission of 127 garage is to create a community that is comfortable for work and collaboration, supporting young artists.

In Vinnytsia, the Garage is hosted by the NGO PLAI Art Association, the main goal of which is to popularize Ukrainian culture through the personalities of contemporary art. In 2020, the Art Association founded the first public art space-studio in the town, PICH.

Decentralization is dedicated to the community of 127 garage, the history of the space, and the events that took place there. All the projects included in the exhibition are directly related to the Garage, for example, the Bridge or Park? game became an important part of the garage program and contributed to the creation of the community. There was also Anton Tkachenko’s series, dedicated to the events that took place in the Garage. We hope that thanks to Decentralization, the Garage will come to life again in a new town.
